Sumburgh Airport

Sumburgh Airport is the main airport serving Shetland and is situated approximately 25 miles south from the main town/port of Lerwick. The airport provides air links to Scotland’s major cities, Orkney and Norway.

Sonet Communications in partnership with P&L Electrics have won this project to install new fibre optic cabling and Cat6 data cabling within the Airport Main building. HIAL is investing some £6.5 million at Sumburgh Airport in order to enhance terminal and airfield facilities, attract new business to the airport, and deliver an improved customer service for scheduled passengers and energy sector customers.
